Chicago, Summertime and Artwork
*So, I just got back from Body Art Expo in Chicago. The trip was fun, the people I went with were fun, the people I met at the show were (mostly) fun, but the convention was shit.
Rather then talk shit on here about it, I’ll just say that I won’t be doing that particular show again. Although, I have to say it was a good primer to whichever convention I attend next. It inspired me to tighten up my artwork and make it more accessible to tattoo enthusiasts. That doesn’t mean I am selling out, just that I went down a road, found out some stuff, and came back a bit smarter.
I also picked up some awesome reference books, an armrest of my very own and a new shader.
*Summertime is here in full swing, which means busy busy busy time at the shop. I am still looking around for people who want to get large custom pieces done for cheap prices. I have expanded my portfolio quite a bit, but I would like to see it keep expanding with custom pictures.
*OK, ok, ok. I’ll start doing some free-king watercolors already. I think I have been avoiding them because I didn’t want to just accept that “Tattooers use watercolors”. Honestly, I still don’t, but I think I could make some great stuff regardless. It’s not like I’ve been painting with anything else recently.
